I've often spent my time wondering what can be done about things. I'm never quite content with the way things are. My problem though is that I was born either 200 years too late, or 200 years too early. I long for the adventure of a frontier to explore, yet am bound in this post-modern world.
So here's the deal. This post is all about world views. My hope is that in sharing we may connect on some level. I'm not in this for money or fame. My desire is to make people feel wanted and loved. Back when I first got married I quickly discovered a grand character flaw I had. I felt bad for people who would try to hit on me. Not because it compromised my marriage. Not because I was all proud and uppity. I felt bad because, whenever someone was flirting with me or asked me out without seeing my ring I had to tell them no.
I had to tell them no, I didn't want to hang out or go on a date because I was already married to the absolute love of my life. I had to tell them that I didn't want them, and that hurt. They were going out on a limb and I couldn't reciprocate. Why do I tell you this? Simply to provide a way we can connect. It is support for my statement above. I live to build connections.
I am a student of psychology and philosophy. I have spent many years in both and have degrees to show that I followed the crowd when I didn't need to, but alas, you legally need them if you want to practice in my field. In my spare time I work on cars, grow a garden, build computers, websites, servers, and games. I also write books and renovate our little run-down house. Most importantly, I spend time with God and my wife.
We've been married for a while now and we haven't had a bad day since we started dating. I might do a post on that a little later.
Perhaps the most important things you need to know about me are that 1) I work to be unendingly honest. 2) I am devoutly religious. 3) I love everyone in a way that I hope can be seen. 4) I want a better world and will do everything I can to make one.
